Mectec Applications - Tyre
Do your tyres meet the new labelling requirements?
On 1 November 2012 the EU introduced new rules for tyre labelling. Labelling is required for tyres produced after 1 July 2012. The EU Directive puts new labelling requirements on manufacturers.
|
The purpose of the regulations is to provide standardized information on safety and environmental impact, thus making it easier for consumers to compare different tyre models.
The classification label is similar to the energy efficiency label used for white goods. The label presents three criteria: fuel efficiency, wet grip and external tyre noise.
|
New rules mean new challenges. The labels must be printed and then applied to the tyre. As global specialists in the field, we can offer complete solutions for labelling within the tyre industry, applicable in existing production chains.
